March 19, 2013 : When the University of Regina organizes a forum, they want Twitter to be part of the conversation. Brian Webb, Web and New Media Specialist at the University, shares his experience.
What was your event?
This was a one-day forum. Inspiring Leadership 2013: Pushing the Boundaries.
What is your job?
I am a Web and New Media Specialist at the University of Regina (Canada).
What was the goal of the Twitter Wall?
I expected a moderated feed that would be used throughout the day that would project Tweets onto a wall. It worked perfectly in near real-time. I would moderate a Tweet and it would appear within seconds.
How did the audience react?
It definitely added to the day. In fact, some of the Tweets were referenced by the emcee during the day, which sparked some good conversations. As you can imagine, the Tweets were nearly all quotes from the speakers and/or forum-specific Tweets.
Many of the Tweets were retweets as well.
Why did you choose us?
I chose it based on a third party recommendation and my own investigation.
Do you think TweetWalls might be usefull in your field?
The university hosts many events each year. This technology could come in handy for many other events/forums/conferences.
What did you think of our service?
Really good product, easy to use. It worked really well.
We will definitely be return customers when we are hosting other events of this nature.
